Following the completion of the competition, there will be a awards ceremony to be held in the same location as the sunday events. Awards and recognition will be given and all competitors are strongly encouraged to attend
Spectators are welcomed at no cost to all days of the competition! (spectators will not be allowed during the Explosive Detection Search and Narcotic Detection Building Search )

Advanced Patrol Dog Seminar
June 17th - 21st
Utah POST Narcotics and Patrol certification will be offered June 18th
This seminar is designed for K9 teams that have been through basic patrol dog training and certification. The seminar will focus on advanced street-worthy deployment scenarios and training. There will be numerous instructors and helpers to ensure that each dog team gets quality training time.
Rosalie "Rose"started in law enforcement in 1984. Worked in a jail and dispatch until 1987 at which time she went to work for
Utah Dept of Corrections. Graduated from the police academy in 1988 and was accepted into K-9 shortly after and went through Utah post in 1989. Rose went to work for Salt Lake city Police department in 1990. Rose continued working at the Police academy for K-9 and also regular police officers as well and became an instructor for Patrol in 1991. Rose became an instructor for Narcotics in 1992.
Rose continued in K-9 for Salt Lake city until 2000. Rose stayed involved with dogs, but in a different venue which was handling a bomb dog for Salt Lake City PD and she became an instructor and Judge for the Utah POST in 2001.
Rose handled a bomb dog during the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002 and also assisted Secret Service trainers with the upkeep of all the military, secret service and ATF dogs during this time.
Rose has a history in Sport K9s and she have titled 20 dogs in Schutzhund and handled dogs for the German show ring.
She competed nationally in Police competitions and placed in the Nationals and North Americans. Rose was a judge at the international police K-9 competition for protection work in 1997 in Germany.
Rose has personally trained 4 dogs which she worked for Police and 6 bomb dogs which she also handled for the police and contract work. Rose started Oquirrhberg Kennels in 1991 with intent of providing the best K9s and services. Rose has had the opportunity to to work with, train and certify well over 5000 K9s and Teams
